The 5 Best Fall Cocktails

We all know pumpkin spice lattes are synonymous with fall, but what does the cooler weather have in store for our favorite cocktails? We’re taking our favorite drinks and putting an autumnal spin on them. These drink recipes are perfect for getting in the mood for sweater weather, haunted hayrides and spooky parties!

1. Apple Cider Mimosas

Your brunch favorite with a spicy fall twist. This bubbly delight is made even better with fresh cider from the apple orchard.

Ingredients
  • 1 bottle champagne
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
Directions
  1. On a small plate, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Dip champagne flutes in water to wet the rims, then dip in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  3. Fill champagne flutes 1/4 full with apple cider, then top off with champagne.

2. Fall Fashioned

This herbal twist on an Old Fashioned is so delicious you’ll want to drink it all year round. Use good quality maple syrup to take this drink to the next level!

Ingredients
  • 2 oz bourbon
  • .5 oz maple syrup
  • .5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Thyme
Directions
  1. Muddle thyme into a glass.
  2. Combine bourbon, maple syrup and lemon juice. Serve on the rocks.
  3. Garnish with a lemon peel and a sprig of thyme.

3. Caramel Apple Mule

Our favorite ginger and lime cocktail gets a fall makeover with fresh apple cider and caramel syrup. Invoke your inner Martha Stewart and make your caramel syrup from scratch!

Ingredients
  • 1.5 oz vodka
  • .5 oz caramel syrup
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • Ginger beer
  • Apple slice
Directions
  1. Shake the vodka, caramel syrup and apple cider with ice.
  2. Strain into a glass with ice and top off with ginger beer.
  3. Garnish with an apple slice.

4. Apple Cider Sangria

Sangria is a classic go to for parties. Once we’ve put the rosé sangria away for next summer, it’s time to bring out her spicy cousin that’s filled with fall’s best flavors like apple, cider, citrus, cinnamon and pear.

Ingredients
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for serving
  • 2 medium apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium pear, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium orange, thinly sliced
  • ⅔ cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle dry white wine
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • ½ cup brandy
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • Club soda
Directions
  1. Place the cinnamon sticks and fruit into a large pitcher.
  2. Add wine, apple cider, brandy, orange juice, and lemon juice.
  3. Allow to sit in the refrigerator for a least 6 hours (overnight is even better!)
  4. Pour the sangria and fruit into glasses.
  5. Add a splash of club soda.
  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

5. Pumpkin White Russian

This cocktail is truly decadent and checks off all the boxes for those who are pumpkin spice obsessed.

Ingredients
  • 1 oz pumpkin spice Kahlua
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 tbsp raw brown sugar crystals
Directions
  1. Combine the pumpkin pie spice and raw brown sugar on a plate. Wet the rim of your glass and dip into the spice mixture.
  2. Add ice to the glass and combine Kahlua, vodka, and cream. Stir lightly.
  3. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
